All band members, including our beginning band members, perform at their school Christmas and Spring concerts.  The concert band at each individual school also performs at other times throughout the school year.  All of our schools take part in our annual Instrumental Music Program Festival which is designed to be an enjoyable afternoon of music for parents and family members while also giving the bands a challenge of performing two pieces to be evaluated by judges.  Ratings and trophies for each school are awarded at each festival.  School bands attend one of the festivals listed.  Information is mailed to the parents of the participating students approximately one month prior to the festival date.  If you have any questions regarding which festival your child will attend, please check with your school's band director or contact the music program office.

Summer Band

2017 Summer Band Locations, Dates and Times - Please click the "More" tab at the top of the web page for more details.
The summer band program provides our students with the opportunity to continue their musical development over the summer so that they are well prepared for the next school year.  It is highly recommended for all band members.  Our summer sessions take place over a six week period with the students attending just one time a week for six or fewer times depending on their availability.  Three levels are offered during summer band -- the C band level is for our beginners or first year players; B band is for our intermediate players; and A band is for our most advanced band members.  All three bands perform at our annual concert.  Each summer band session includes a band rehearsal, a sectional rehearsal and a music lesson.
Our summer A band played a wide variety of selections including "Oh, Pretty Woman", "Neutron Dance", "Splish Splash" and a number of other pieces under the direction of Wes Osment.  Guest soloist, Zach Scudlark, joined the band on "Splish Splash".

Fun at the summer band concert!

You just never know "Who you gonna call?" at this performance.  Our summer B band director, Jen Weglein, not only conducted the band but also had to chase away monsters during the performance of "Ghostbusters"!
